Sponsored by the DHL Express Country Managers of the Bahamas, Bermuda and Cayman Islands and powered by STEMBoard, the Solar Grand Challenge is designed to inspire secondary school students to create portable solar solutions that can be implemented for less than $50,000.

DHL Express and the STEMBoard team are committed to enhancing STEM education opportunities throughout the Caribbean. Grand Challenge participants will actively engage in ideation, design thinking, learn about solar energy, and writing an abstract.  In addition to helping students develop their research and presentation skills, this program will foster collaboration, community and competition among high school leadership, teachers and pupils.

Who Should Participate?

The focus of the challenge is secondary school students in the Bahamas, Bermuda and Cayman Islands. Students from the winning team will receive up to $10,000 in prize money, participation in Hack.IT 2016 in Nassau, Bahamas and may see their idea to fruition where it will help DHL Express reduce utility costs at its facilities.
